Topics in the basic study period

The chair Foundations of Programming offers basic computer science lectures. These lectures are held in German. In particular, these are Algorithmen und Datenstrukturen and Programmierung.

Topics in the main study period and in research

We investigate weighted tree automata and tree transducers and equivalent formalisms as well as their applications in the field of Machine Translation. We regularly offer a research-oriented course on these topics (seminar or reading group).

Supporting both reseach and teaching, an open-source Machine-Translation system called Vanda is being built at our chair. It shall be a manifestation of both the knowledge obtained in our lectures and the insights gained in our research. Students are welcome to participate in the context of their study projects.
