Course Description

In this seminar, we will study the field of automated translation of human languages. A full list of topics is available for download.

Introductory Meeting

There will be a first meeting on April 9, 13:00-14:30 (DS 4), in room INF E3027. Please attend this meeting if you want to participate.

Prerequisites

  • for Hauptseminar/CL: formal language theory
  • for Proseminar: interest in formal language theory

Examination Method

Students will study the assigned topics based on original literature and/or books.

Each student will give a talk towards the end of the semester.

Students of CL, as well as Computer Science students aiming at a Hauptseminar (but not Proseminar), will have to write a seminar essay on their topic (about 15 pages long).

The language of the seminar is English.
