Die Forschungsschwerpunkte der Professur für Rechnernetze an der TU Dresden umfassen das Internet der Dienste und Cloud Computing, Technologien des Information Retrieval im Internet, mobile und kollaborative Systeme sowie Werkzeuge zur Netzwerkplanung. Neben zahlreichen grundlegenden Fragestellungen spielt auch der aktive Transfer von Forschungsergebnissen mit enger Industriekooperation eine wichtige Rolle.
