In great dismay, we have to inform you that our chair

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Andreas Pfitzmann passed away on 23 September 2010.

To all of us (current and former members of his research group), Andreas has been a committed leader and circumspect academic adviser for the past 17 years of his service at the Department of Computer Science at TU Dresden. He always listened to our professional and personal questions.
Not only we lose a sympathetic professor—who never saw himself as a "boss"—but also a good friend.
Our sympathy and thoughts are with his family.
